Developed over the last five-ish years, Spirit World is the work of a single dev (hello) interested in building an enormously ambitious multiplayer adventure game. Spirit World draws inspiration from Runescape, Hades, Outer Wilds, Zelda, and many other varied sources.
With the first 2.5 regions largely complete, my roadmap to 1.0 runs through 2027 and aims to include roughly 6 additional regions, and much more content.
Complex Action Combat
Choose from seven melee weapon archetypes. Wield a variety of ranged weapons. Power up with elemental attacks. Play roguelike dungeons with various power-ups and multiple difficulty tiers. Group up together and battle varied enemies in a squad.
Meaningful, Skill-Based Crafting
Hunt down ingredients, brew potions, and smith weapons. Engage in complex crafting systems where your mastery over chaotic information rewards you with better item quality.
Long-Form, Rewarding Quests
Complete complex quests with multiple steps, puzzles, lore, difficult objectives, and twisting storylines. Spirit World largely aims to avoid the WoW style simple quest (though there are smaller tasks available) in favor of more Runescape-inspired, longer journeys.
Explore Together
Friend other players, chat, trade items, and group up to battle lengthy dungeons as a squad. Prepare your armor, your weapons, and your potions. Journey through 80-person map regions where the chance of encountering or teaming up with other players is just around the next corner.
